About Us

The Covid has changed the geo-politics and the Supply Chains. It is a time to realign the Peace-loving humanity, NGOs, cultural groups, and other help groups and looks for a peaceful world. Grouping based on their values, customs and cultures valid to have a reasonable footprint on global peace are considered.

We have initiated an action to establish an Association for Asia Pacific Union (AAPU) initiated earlier as AAU and got higher importance during a fight against the Pandemic when the international activities got paused and rebooted.

AAPU has already started participating in the Cultural Programs that dotted India in Asia and Australia in Pacific. Now intent is to gather the mass around the same.

India has taken up lead to take care of Island Nations with their Infrastructure under threat from Climate Change. AAPU intends to take on the same on cooperation basis by exchange of studies and recommendations.

UNO handles global order, and AAPU regionalises it to find Comprehensive solutions similar to the European Union (EU). For achieving sustainable peace, humankind, the community, and the cultural group one belongs to come forward to accept the good values of other organisations and share their positive cultures for global good, without any religious or political philosophy imprint.

AAPU is a step towards achieving world peace to go beyond the Governments and Policymakers and be achieved with the unsolicited commitment of like-minded humanity to help create a world of peace in which we aspire to live.

A World where together we all can adopt a cooperative approach in sharing knowledge for tackling climate change, making the world educated for sustainable growth, offering common entrepreneurship, water scarcity, fix Intergenerational relations, Poverty and hunger, society’s inclusiveness, looking within ourselves and building an integrated peace movement towards the realisation of peace and shape a world of our choice for us and our generations to live in, a good for the entire human race, it is now or never.

As such an effort initiated by AAPU is strengthening. The Asia Pacific has taken over the troubled spot due to changed geopolitics and the rise of defence diplomacy and terrorism threatening global peace. The requirements of AAPU have arisen.

That is what AAPU broadly stands for.

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT DESK

I am honoured to share my mind to dear readers & viewers of the Website who will contribute their valuable ideas to carry forward & realise the dream of the Asia Pacific countries to live in peace without any more exploitation by the developed countries. Even though the Asia Pacific countries have been the cradle of civilization & culture, these have been fully exploited for the last few centuries. The industrially advanced nations have been able to influence the weaker countries to fall prey to their whims, likes & dislikes. Besides, the bitter experience of two world wars and now also continuously fighting among those haves & have-nots has created the fear among the people of Asia Pacific countries.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?

As we know, the Europe was most volatile Continent in the world due to many internal wars and the two World Wars. The European Union was, thus, borne with just 6 members who later expanded to 27 countries. The African Union too came up later with sole purpose of uniting countries of Africa.

It was from 23rd March to 2nd April 1947 that the first Asian Relations Conference was organized with participation of 28 countries. The Indian leaders who participated were Pt. Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, C Rajagopalachari, Mr Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Ms Sarojini Naidu. Mahatma Gandhi addressed the Conference at the closing ceremony on 2 April when at the plenary session, a Resolution (formally moved by the Chinese delegate, Yuan-ning) was adopted, to establish an organization to be called “Asian Relations Organization.” A provisional General council, consisting of 30 members from various countries was appointed and Pt Nehru was chosen to be the first Head of the Council. Later, Asian vision was re-mould into the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) by bringing in Africa and others. However, 2nd April is well known now as Asian Unity Day.

In view of the above, the Association for Asian Union was conceived as an NGO on 1st Aug, 2001, which was later renamed as Association for Asia Pacific Union (AAPU) in 2021 to address the issues of all the countries of not only Asia but also Asia Pacific region. However, both AAU & AAPU are two divisions of Forum for Confederation in the Subcontinent (FOCIS) registers under Societies Act. Accordingly, the MISSION, VISION and AIMS & OBJECTIVES have been set forth by the Founders of AAPU including Late Dr B P Agarwal (former Ambassador), late Mr D K Arya, IPS (former DG, BSF), Dr Sandeep Marwah (President AAFT) and Wing Commander (Retd) Praful Bakshi and others.

Having laid the foundation, we have to march ahead to achieve world peace beyond the Governments and Policy makers, with the solicited commitment of like-minded humanity. We have to adopt cooperative approach in sharing knowledge for tackling major issues like Climate Change, eliminating illiteracy, poverty, hunger & water scarcity and achieving sustainable growth besides launching the movement for realization of peace for generations.

To achieve the Mission, we have to set up branch offices not only in Indian Metropolitan cities but also progressively in other countries which, however, are possible with active involvement and participation of the countries of the region.

We shall Achieve this as we don't have impossible word in AAPU's dictionary

We shall Achieve this as we don't have impossible word

The Mission

Achieving World Peace beyond the Governments and Policymakers, with the solicited commitment of like-minded humanity to help create a world of peace. A World of cooperative approach in sharing knowledge for tackling climate change, Sustainable growth, offering common entrepreneurship, eliminating Poverty, hunger & water scarcity and building an integrated peace movement towards the realisation of peace for us and our generations.

Vision of Asia Pacific Union

The quest for peace & prosperity has been a universal dream of humanity. All the global leaders who believed in Democratic Principles and Humanitarian values worked relentlessly towards this pursuit.

India felt that in the violently changing world order after the second world war, especially in the Asia Pacific region, the best option for the nations emerging out of colonial rule was to join up together to form a Union of Nationsco-prosperity and joint development. This unionisation would ensure that the erstwhile colonial powers & developed nations get a denial of the opportunity to exploit these newly formed Nations through economic manipulations in the form of aid & other political or military interventions.

India organised a week-long meeting of the Asian countries in 1947.This process got discontinued due to some urgent developments in Indonesia on similar issues.

Hence, we now carry this vision forward proposed for AAU to form an expanded Union of Asia Pacific Countries to aim towards joint development and co-prosperity of member countries in the Union.

In our Brave New World, we would bring in joint development in all spheres such as industrial, Trade and commerce, Tourism, Medicine, Education, ecology and Environment, Cultural evolution, and collective security from Military exploiters and terrorism. The changing needs could increase the list from time to time.

Aims and Objectives (AAPU)

The Asia Pacific Union would develop doctrine and policies to ensure the exploitation is not repeated and co-prosperity and collective security become the order of the day.

The fields jointly covered by the Union member countries would be in the realm of Industrial Development, development in Agriculture, Tourism, Education, Field of Science and Technology. The critical areas on Environment, Information Technology, Security and Defence deliberated jointly and last, but not least, the joint cultural exchange program would also be covered. Besides, the effort is to develop the respective cultural and associated philosophical thought processes. The last point would go a very long way to get the people closer mentally. Tackling social issues and reaching out to the needs & aspirations of the youth is intended to be included. These fields mentioned above would see the joint involvement of the Asia Pacific countries in the union and bring them closer in a more cohesive and understanding manner.

One other important point under consideration would involve the intelligentsia and educational institutions in meetings and seminars deliberating and discussing the Union of Asia Pacific countries’ idea. A regular ongoing periodic event in India to begin with followed by all nations would be evolved.

As a part of follow up objectives, it is the endeavor to undertake at the national level enrolling suitable and willing members for the fields mentioned above. Even any other willing citizen interested in this thought process are motivated to become a member of AAPU.

At this juncture, one must keep in mind the latest development in the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean zone after forming the quad group by India, Japan, Australia and the USA to look after their joint interest. Here, India, as proposed by America and other nations, might have to assume the Leadership of the Asia Pacific group of countries AAPU.
